H RIDERS NOVEMBER 2009.
Welcome everyone to the last Newsletter of the year, and what a year it has been, in total we have raised £850 for charities in the year, so I would like to thank one and all for a job well done including the staff at the Café and Sean for their continued support in all our efforts in raising money for charities. At the last meeting we voted in new members as Club officers these include, Tim (Joker) Vice Chairman, Helen (Predator) Secretary, Ollie (Duffer) Functions and Security coordinator, Taff Liaison and Road Captain, Steve Road Captain, Pete Road Captain, Mel Committee Member, Could all people who have Club business input please see me and not Sean, as Sean runs the Café and the Pub, and I run the Club and if I am not around see Tim or one of the other Club officers, and I would like to remind members that the primary aim of the Club is the continued success of the Café our venue for the Club, I would like to thank you for this. Now a few words from Club Officers, Tim would like to say Hi to everyone, everybody should know Tim (Joker) he was one of the first people to use the Café from years ago and again if I’m not around he’s the man to see. Next Helen would like to say a few words, my name is Helen, and I was offered the position of club secretary, which I proudly accepted…this was sworn in by the committee at the last general meeting. I’m always around at H Café most of the time! Either chatting or admiring my new first street fighter project, which I will next year be taking to many shows under the H riders Badge…come and take a look around her anytime, she’s different! But all my own hard work!! I’m very proud of her.x
Any questions or membership information then please feel free to come and have a chat, I don’t bite!!! But the predator does…he he, look forward to meet those of you I have not met, take care ride safe, H. (H riders New Secretary). Taff would like to say Hi also and he said he would like to thank Sean, Lisa and all the staff for a great season.
In the near future Pictures of the Club Officers will be put up on the wall in the Games room where the Club notice board is, Rogue’s gallery. On December 6th we will be having a pork pie run down to Melton, watch the notice board for details. Also it has been brought to my attention that there will be a demo in London sometime in December about Bike parking charges, London has banked a quarter of a million so far, and Manchester is to follow, next they be giving us congestion charge, we are part of the solution not the problem, as soon as I know more I will let you know, so watch the notice board, if we are going to have a demo lets get as many of us as we can to go down there and show them we are united about this. Two seasons ago we went to central London on a Demo about the idea of giving bikes a congestion charge, well we gave them congestion, about 5000 of us hit Whitehall and they did a U turn on that one.
Our toy run is coming up on Sunday the 20th December, let’s have a good turnout for this one boy and girls, last year was good but we can do better for the Kids, the media will be in attendance. Jim from AMI, Mel, and Mandy from OCC are working hard for bike awareness, at the moment we are going to come up with Bike awareness stickers for cars, and some form of leaflet for new drivers, any further developments will be passed on to you as I get them. There is a Club meeting on the 17th December at 6pm, if anybody has input please come along you are most welcome. RIDE SAFE
